
The art gallery at Western Washington University was a blank canvas a couple months ago. Students could go in and write/draw whatever they wanted. I liked this particular piece a lot.
I’D PROBABLY BE THERE BY NOW IF I HADN’T DRAWN THE MAP ON HAM, AND WITH A PENCIL.
I SHOULD HAVE USED A SHARPIE OR SOMETHING.
I’M JUST GOING TO EAT THIS DELICIOUS MAP.

- Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
- Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
- Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.

Jean Harlow spent every Sunday bleaching her ash blond hair platinum, with a mixture of peroxide, ammonia, Clorox, and Lux flakes. The painful procedure wreaked such havoc on her hair she was eventually forced to don a wig.
